MILESTONE OF 70+ PROPOSALS
We are happy to share our milestone in the form of 70+ written proposals since our foundation in 2009.
We have written over 70 proposals under three of the most prominent funding programs of the European Union - FP7, Horizon 2020 (H2020) and its successor, Horizon Europe.
These programs offer funding opportunities for researchers, innovators, and businesses across Europe.
H2020
H2020, which ran from 2014 to 2020, was the EU's largest-ever research and innovation funding program, with a budget of €80 billion. It supported a wide range of projects, from fundamental research to technology development and demonstration. The program was open to participants from academia, industry, and other sectors, and offered grants, loans, and other forms of support.
Horizon Europe
Horizon Europe, which began in 2021 and runs until 2027, is even larger, with a budget of €95.5 billion. It continues many of the themes of H2020, but with an increased focus on tackling global challenges such as climate change, health, and digital transformation. It also places a greater emphasis on innovation and commercialization, aiming to bring research results to market more quickly and effectively.
Both H2020 and Horizon Europe offer a range of funding opportunities, including individual grants, collaborative projects, and support for innovation and entrepreneurship. They are open to participants from across Europe and beyond, and encourage cross-border cooperation and knowledge sharing.
Overall, these funding programs have been crucial in supporting research and innovation in Europe and driving economic growth and social progress. They offer a valuable opportunity for researchers, innovators, and businesses to access resources and support for their work, and to collaborate across borders and sectors to tackle some of the world's most pressing challenges.
OUR SHARE OF PROPOSALS
These proposals cover a wide range of topics, from artificial intelligence and robotics to sustainable heritage and energy solutions. We are happy and proud to be part of these initiatives, which seek to address some of the most pressing challenges facing society today.
Among the areas of research covered were developing trustworthy artificial intelligence tools to predict the risk of chronic non-communicable diseases, exploring sustainable and resource-efficient solutions for cultural heritage management, and creating efficient and low-emission technologies for industrial use.
The proposals also delved into cutting-edge areas such as hybrid catalytic conversion of renewable energy to carbon-neutral fuels, developing a forecasting model to increase urban safety, future-proofing historical buildings for the clean energy transition and many more.
And while not all of our proposals have been funded, we remain passionate about the topics we are exploring and the potential impact that the research has.
